{"id":111,"date":"2014-11-30T13:58:47","date_gmt":"2014-11-30T20:58:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/minormanor.org\/?p=111"},"modified":"2014-12-01T16:41:48","modified_gmt":"2014-12-01T23:41:48","slug":"2015-planned-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/?p=111","title":{"rendered":"2015 Planned Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These are currently <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">planned<\/span> projects.\u00a0 If you want to look at and maybe help decide and implement\u00a0We had a good start for 2014 but didn&#8217;t get quite done. \u00a0Here is a listing of projects that will involve Tom Berry and his crew and also Jon. \u00a0Any of us can join in and assist and the funding for these finish up projects will most likely involve Janet, Gary, and JoAnn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carpentry\/Construction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_patio_ceiling_-Copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_patio_ceiling_-Copy-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"The deck looking toward the kitchen. The part where the door is falls under the old &quot;living room&quot; roof line. The foundation of the kitchen is now very nicely supported underneath.  he windows cover about pretty much the entire length of the &quot;stream&quot; wall and all can be opened for ventilation and sound. Both exterior doors have nice windows also.\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_outside_view_-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_outside_view_-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_outside_view_.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tom and crew we&#8217;ll need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>complete outside siding similar to what is currently on the cabin. \u00a0 This wood most likely will be cut and dried up at Casey Lumber in Woodland Park. <em>\u00a0NOTE:\u00a0we may want to do a bi of repair on some other areas of the cabin at the same time such as on the south side (stained glass window) side where a lot of splitting has occurred.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0put decking material onto the base of all the new deck areas and also put a railing around it(see above picture). \u00a0These will be great places to stand and enjoy the stream.<\/li>\n<li>build a &#8220;step down&#8221; from the area on the left to the old trail area going down to the stream bridge.<\/li>\n<li>connect the new decking to the old decking. \u00a0<em>Note that we may want to consider bringing the old decking &#8220;up to level&#8221; for this to effectively occur. \u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">This is an important topic<\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li>install remaining two windows in the kitchen and the replacement window in the door going into bedroom area. \u00a0Note that we have already purchased these windows and only installation including trim is needed. \u00a0We also have one small window for the door going out of the north bedroom area into the old entry area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Plumbing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_5404.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-101 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_5404-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5404\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_5404-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_5404.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jon has completed a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">substantial<\/span> amount of work on the plumbing but has a ways to go. \u00a0The goal is two fold. 1) have a great plumbing system and 2) enable plumbing to start a little earlier in the spring and stay a little later into the fall.<\/p>\n<p>JP will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>finish up this area around the water heater to include all needed turn on\/turn off valves. \u00a0It is likely that this location will be where turn on&#8217;s in the spring and turn off&#8217;s in the fall occur.<\/li>\n<li>wrap all the plumbing pipes with aluminum foil\/insulation\/heat tape\/and a second layer of aluminum foil. \u00a0The heat tape will be plugged in and turned on in the spring and turned off in the fall. \u00a0 The purpose of this is to allow for the cabin to be turned on fairly early in the spring (i.e. late April) and early fall (late October) without worrying about broken pipes and thus extend the &#8220;cabin season&#8221; a few weeks in the fall and spring!<\/li>\n<li>run one pipe to the north side \u00a0of the deck area to enable an outside water hose spigot to be placed. \u00a0This will make it substantially easier to do any outside watering\/washing needed.<\/li>\n<li>repair\/replace any sewer\/septic tank piping needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Electrical:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_kitchen_panel_wall_.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-33\" src=\"https:\/\/www.minormanor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/10-5-2014_kitchen_panel_wall_-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\u200b This is what the panel box looks like.  Jon successfully removed the old panel box and installed this new one.
