JoAnn, Janet, and myself at the cabin.    We were all pretty amazed at how good things looked.  I’ll share some photos and let you take a look but photos don’t do it justice.   We started working on Friday night and finished up Saturday afternoon, cleaning, organizing, etc.

Looking at outside wall with cabinets, new windows, countertop, new sink, etc.  It was actually fairly warm and we opened the windows for about an hour and the sound from the stream is exceptionally nice now.

Looking the other direction.   Janet and JoAnn went through a lot of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc.  and repacked the cabinets.  This is  are working perfectly.  We have a lot of little things to do (electric plugs, tile back splash, door trim, etc. ) but are way further along than we ever thought possible!

Looking at outside wall.  The floor is spectacular as is pretty much everything else.  After looking at the corner area on the left, we think a taller table with bar type stools would work very nice.  The windows are nicely trimmed.

Probably the most amazing part of this project is a piece that we really didn’t plan for and that is the connection between the living room and the kitchen.  The overhead beams and posts look really good from both the living room side and the kitchen side.  It has this very interesting, layered look that is really nice.

We have the entertainment center on the “kitchen” wall and it is a perfect fit.  The furniture is set up to take advantage of the great window space.

The wood stairway connection between the kitchen and the living room is excellent and very inviting.
Tom, Bob, Charlie, and Jon have work planned for about one more week.  We probably have stretched out the season about as long as we can.  Most likely we’ll be disconnecting the water for the winter sometime next week but we may see a few projects take place for some time after that.

Comments received:

Chris: Holy smokes, that kitchen counter looks GREAT!  I knew it was an improvement, but that’s amazing!

Janet: Looks beautiful and thanks so much it is beautiful beyond dreams.  Love you, janet

Bear: I’m trying to get sleepy for my winter nap and those workers keep making noise.
